Hyatt Appoints Briana Swift as Regional VP of Development to Accelerate Saudi Arabia Expansion

Senior Leadership Appointment Strengthens Hyatt’s Growth Strategy in the Kingdom

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has appointed Briana Swift as Regional Vice President of Development for Saudi Arabia, reinforcing its leadership structure to support the company’s long-term expansion strategy in the Kingdom. Based in Riyadh, Swift will oversee Hyatt’s hotel development pipeline across major cities and emerging tourism destinations in Saudi Arabia.

The appointment reflects Hyatt’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence in one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing hospitality markets as the country advances its tourism and infrastructure ambitions.

Leading Hyatt’s Development Strategy in Saudi Arabia

In her new role, Swift will be responsible for managing Hyatt’s development initiatives throughout Saudi Arabia. Her work will focus on identifying new hotel opportunities, building strategic partnerships with investors and developers, and expanding the company’s brand portfolio across key destinations.

Saudi Arabia has become a priority market for Hyatt as the company continues to scale its footprint in the region. The group aims to significantly increase its hotel presence in the Kingdom as tourism demand grows and large-scale development projects reshape the hospitality landscape.

Extensive Experience in Global Hospitality Development

Swift joined Hyatt in 2017, initially working within the acquisitions and development division for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EAME). During her tenure with the company, she has held several development leadership roles supporting Hyatt’s growth in multiple international markets.

Before relocating to Saudi Arabia, Swift served as Regional Vice President of Development for Northern Europe, where she played a key role in expanding Hyatt’s presence in several markets and introducing new brands to the region.

Her achievements included launching the JdV by Hyatt brand in Sweden and securing the signing of Hyatt Centric Altstadt Hamburg, marking Hyatt’s return to the Hamburg hospitality market.

Expanding Hyatt’s Pipeline Across Saudi Tourism Projects

Swift will oversee Hyatt’s growing pipeline of hotel developments across Saudi Arabia, which includes projects in major urban hubs and newly emerging tourism destinations.

Among the upcoming properties are Hyatt Place AlUla, Grand Hyatt The Red Sea, and Miraval The Red Sea, developments that form part of broader tourism initiatives designed to expand the Kingdom’s hospitality offerings.

These projects aim to support the increasing demand for diverse hotel experiences ranging from luxury resorts to wellness-focused destinations.

Strengthening Hyatt’s Regional Leadership Presence

Hyatt has been increasing its leadership presence in Saudi Arabia by positioning key executives in Riyadh. Establishing regional leadership teams within the Kingdom allows the company to work more closely with investors, developers, and government stakeholders.

Swift’s appointment follows the earlier appointment of Stephen Ansell as Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa, who also operates from Riyadh. These leadership moves are designed to support Hyatt’s regional expansion and align the company with local tourism development strategies.

Aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Growth Vision

Saudi Arabia continues to invest heavily in tourism infrastructure and hospitality projects as part of its Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the country’s economy and attract international visitors.

Global hotel brands such as Hyatt are playing a key role in supporting this transformation by developing new properties and introducing diverse hospitality experiences across the Kingdom.

With Swift leading development efforts, Hyatt is expected to continue expanding its portfolio and strengthening its presence in Saudi Arabia’s evolving hospitality market.
