Marriott International Deepens Saudi Arabia Presence with Ultra-Luxury and Lifestyle Hotel Projects
Marriott International is strengthening its presence in Saudi Arabia with new luxury and lifestyle hotel projects in NEOM’s mountain destination Trojena and downtown AlUla. The developments include an ultra-exclusive Ritz-Carlton Reserve resort and an Autograph Collection hotel, supporting the Kingdom’s growing tourism ambitions and reinforcing Marriott’s long-term commitment to destination-led hospitality across Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia | Hospitality Development Update
Marriott International continues to expand its footprint in Saudi Arabia through a series of high-profile hotel agreements that reinforce the Kingdom’s growing appeal as a global luxury and lifestyle tourism destination. The latest developments span ultra-exclusive resort experiences and culturally rooted urban hospitality, aligned with Saudi Arabia’s long-term tourism and economic diversification goals.
Ritz-Carlton Reserve to Anchor Luxury Hospitality in Trojena, NEOM
Marriott has signed an agreement with NEOM to introduce the Ritz-Carlton Reserve to Trojena, NEOM’s year-round mountain destination in northwest Saudi Arabia.
Planned as an intimate, villa-only retreat, the resort is expected to feature approximately 60 expansive one- to four-bedroom villas, complemented by wellness facilities, pools, and curated dining experiences. Set within a remote mountain landscape, the project is designed to deliver a highly personalised, nature-immersive luxury experience distinct from traditional resort formats.
This signing represents Marriott’s second Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Saudi Arabia and forms part of a broader collaboration between Marriott and NEOM across multiple hospitality concepts.
Autograph Collection Hotel Planned for AlUla’s City Centre
In a separate development, Marriott has partnered with AlUla Development Company to bring an Autograph Collection property to downtown AlUla.
Scheduled to open in 2025, the hotel will be located near key cultural and civic landmarks, including the AlUla Museum. Plans include around 250 rooms and suites, alongside multiple dining venues, wellness amenities, meeting facilities, and retail components. The project is positioned to serve both international visitors and domestic travellers exploring AlUla’s heritage, nature, and cultural offerings.
Two Distinct Brands, One Market Strategy
While differing in scale and positioning, both projects reflect Marriott International’s strategy of deploying differentiated brands across Saudi Arabia’s emerging destinations. Ritz-Carlton Reserve targets ultra-high-end experiential travel in remote natural settings, while Autograph Collection focuses on design-led, culturally expressive hotels embedded within urban and heritage contexts.
Together, the developments support Saudi Arabia’s ambition to attract diverse visitor segments while preserving destination identity and environmental integrity.
Long-Term Commitment to Saudi Arabia
With multiple luxury and lifestyle brands already operating or under development across the Kingdom, Marriott International continues to view Saudi Arabia as a priority growth market. These latest signings further strengthen the group’s role in shaping the country’s evolving hospitality landscape as new destinations such as NEOM and AlUla gain global prominence.
