MGX Approves 2026 Budget, Accelerates Global AI Infrastructure and Strategic Alliances

MGX Confirms 2026 Budget After Landmark Year

MGX has formally approved its 2026 budget during its year-end board meeting, chaired by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The board assessed financial performance and portfolio growth in 2025, describing the year as a transition from strategic planning to large-scale capital deployment across the global artificial intelligence ecosystem.

Deepening Partnerships Across the AI Value Chain

As part of its long-term strategy, MGX continues to strengthen partnerships with major AI innovators, including:

  • OpenAI

  • xAI

  • Databricks

These collaborations span the full AI stack, covering frontier models, data platforms, semiconductor technologies, and applied enterprise AI solutions.

The board also reviewed global fundraising progress aimed at expanding capital allocation to high-impact AI sectors.

Scaling AI Infrastructure Across Three Continents

UAE: Building National AI Capacity

In the UAE, MGX is supporting the development of Stargate UAE through its investment in Khazna Data Centers. The initiative strengthens the country’s position as a regional AI compute hub and enhances domestic digital infrastructure resilience.

Europe: Paris AI Campus Project

In Europe, MGX is preparing to begin construction in 2026 on a major AI Campus near Paris, expected to scale to approximately 1.4 gigawatts of capacity. The project is designed to support advanced AI workloads and high-performance computing needs across the continent.

United States: Expanding Gigawatt-Scale Capacity

In the United States, MGX is expanding next-generation digital infrastructure through additional investments in Vantage Data Centers, supporting the Stargate build-out of roughly 2.3 gigawatts in Texas and Wisconsin.

The company also announced the acquisition of Aligned Data Centers in partnership with the AI Infrastructure Partnership and Global Infrastructure Partners, a BlackRock entity. Valued at approximately $40 billion, the transaction ranks among the largest private investments in digital infrastructure globally.

Advancing AI-Native Institutional Capabilities

Beyond infrastructure, MGX has introduced AI-driven internal tools to enhance governance and decision-making. These include “Ain,” an AI-powered board and investment committee assistant, as well as AI Talent Scout and AI Fluency Interviewer platforms.

By embedding artificial intelligence directly into its operational processes, MGX aims to generate real-time insights, streamline evaluations, and accelerate investment execution.

Strategic Outlook for 2026 and Beyond

Established in 2024 by Abu Dhabi’s Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council, MGX focuses on accelerating AI adoption worldwide through strategic capital investments.

With its 2026 budget approved, the company is set to deepen investments across semiconductors, infrastructure, frontier AI models, physical AI applications, life sciences, blockchain, and fintech — sectors where artificial intelligence is expected to deliver long-term economic transformation.

MGX’s expanding global footprint underscores Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become a leading hub in the evolving AI-driven economy.
