The Langham Hospitality Group will open The Langham, Diriyah in 2029 as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 transformation. Located 15 minutes from Riyadh, the 200-room luxury hotel will feature Najdi-inspired architecture, Michelin-starred dining including T’ang Court, Chuan Spa, and refined event spaces. Developed in partnership with the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, the property blends cultural heritage with contemporary design in one of the Kingdom’s most significant historical districts.
Langham Hospitality Group has confirmed the development of The Langham, Diriyah, scheduled to open in 2029 in Saudi Arabia. The project marks the brand’s first property in the Kingdom and will be delivered in partnership with Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA).
Located just 15 minutes from central Riyadh, the luxury hotel will become a key part of Diriyah’s transformation into a world-class cultural and lifestyle destination under Vision 2030.
Prime Address in Diriyah – The City of Earth
The Langham, Diriyah will be positioned along the district’s central boulevard, a future luxury retail and hospitality corridor. Guests will be within close reach of At-Turaif, the UNESCO World Heritage Site recognised as the birthplace of the First Saudi State established in 1727.
Diriyah, often referred to as “The City of Earth,” is being developed as a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use urban community that celebrates Saudi Arabia’s history while embracing modern urban design principles.
Architecture Inspired by Traditional Najdi Design
The architectural concept for The Langham, Diriyah draws inspiration from authentic Najdi design. The structure will feature low-rise buildings, shaded courtyards, traditional columns, and textured stone façades that reflect centuries-old Saudi building techniques.
Designed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc, the project integrates geometric detailing, natural materials such as mud-brick and local stone, and contemporary craftsmanship. The hotel’s design will respect the surrounding heritage landscape while introducing refined modern luxury.
200 Rooms of Refined Luxury
The Langham, Diriyah will offer 200 luxury rooms and suites crafted to combine timeless elegance with cultural authenticity. Interiors will reflect warm tones, curated art installations, and high-quality materials that echo Diriyah’s historic character.
Guests will have access to the exclusive Langham Club Lounge, personalised services, and thoughtfully designed spaces that balance global luxury standards with regional identity.
Culinary Experiences and Global Dining Concepts
The hotel will introduce two signature dining venues, including the Middle East debut of T’ang Court, The Langham’s renowned three-Michelin-star Cantonese restaurant concept.
The Langham’s celebrated afternoon tea tradition—originating in London in 1865—will also be reimagined to honour Middle Eastern tea and coffee rituals. Additionally, Sauce, The Langham’s international culinary school concept, will debut in Diriyah, offering immersive gastronomic experiences for guests.
Chuan Spa and Holistic Wellness
The Langham’s signature Chuan Spa will bring its wellness philosophy inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine to Diriyah. Facilities will include separate pool decks, relaxation areas, and comprehensive wellness treatments designed to provide a restorative retreat.
The property will also feature dedicated grooming services and fitness amenities, enhancing its positioning as a lifestyle luxury destination.
Event Spaces and Social Gatherings
With terraces and event spaces overlooking Diriyah’s central boulevard, The Langham, Diriyah will offer premium venues for weddings, private celebrations, and corporate gatherings. Natural light, architectural detailing, and landscaped surroundings will create a distinctive backdrop for social events.
Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030
The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to diversify the economy through tourism, culture, and international investment. Diriyah is expected to host approximately 100,000 residents, workers, students, and visitors upon completion, positioning it as a major global heritage destination.
By introducing The Langham brand to Diriyah, the development strengthens Riyadh’s position as an emerging luxury hospitality hub in the Middle East.
