Diriyah Gate Unveils Collection of Global Luxury Hotels for Saudi Arabia’s Heritage Destination

International hospitality brands to open hotels across Diriyah Gate and Wadi Safar as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 tourism strategy

Saudi Arabia’s historic Diriyah Gate development has announced a lineup of internationally renowned hotel brands set to establish properties within the destination. The hotels will be located across two major masterplans developed by the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA)Diriyah Gate and Wadi Safar — both designed to transform the historic region into a world-class tourism and cultural destination.

The hospitality portfolio will feature a diverse mix of luxury, lifestyle, and heritage-inspired hotels, positioning Diriyah as a major hospitality hub in the Middle East.

Global luxury brands to operate hotels in Diriyah Gate

Several prominent international hospitality brands have been confirmed for the Diriyah Gate district. These include Address Hotels + Resorts, Baccarat Hotels & Resorts, Campbell Gray Hotels & Resorts, and Capella Hotels & Resorts, which will operate a 100-room property in the Bujairi district.

Luxury French culinary brand Fauchon will introduce its first Fauchon Hotel in the Middle East, while LXR Hotels & Resorts, part of Hilton’s luxury portfolio, will launch an 80-key retreat in Saudi Arabia.

Additional hotel brands confirmed within the development include Orient Express, Raffles, Park Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, Rosewood, and The Luxury Collection by Marriott.

These brands will collectively create a premium hospitality cluster designed to attract global travellers and elevate the visitor experience at Diriyah.

Ultra-luxury resorts planned for Wadi Safar

To the west of Diriyah Gate lies Wadi Safar, another major component of the broader Diriyah development. This district will host high-end resorts offering privacy, wellness experiences, and nature-focused hospitality.

Two globally recognised luxury brands confirmed for Wadi Safar are Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Six Senses, both known for their emphasis on sustainability, wellness, and exclusive resort environments.

These properties are expected to complement Diriyah Gate’s cultural attractions while offering visitors a secluded retreat experience.

Phased opening strategy through 2026

The development plan for Diriyah Gate includes a phased rollout of hotels and hospitality venues. New projects are expected to be announced, developed, and opened each year from 2022 through 2026, ensuring continuous expansion of the destination.

The first hotel expected to open is The Luxury Collection property by Marriott, which will feature 141 rooms.

In addition to hotel openings, Bujairi Terrace will host 18 restaurant brands, forming one of the first major dining and lifestyle attractions to open within the development.

Celebrating Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage

Diriyah is widely regarded as the birthplace of the first Saudi state and holds deep historical and cultural significance. The development aims to preserve and showcase more than 300 years of Saudi heritage through architecture, museums, cultural attractions, and immersive experiences.

The masterplan incorporates traditional Najdi architectural design, reflecting the historic building style of the region.

At the heart of Diriyah lies At-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important historical landmarks in Saudi Arabia. The site once served as the political and cultural centre of the first Saudi state and the original home of the Saudi royal family.

A cornerstone project under Vision 2030

Diriyah Gate is one of Saudi Arabia’s flagship Vision 2030 tourism projects, aimed at diversifying the economy and increasing international tourism.

Once fully developed, the destination will feature luxury hotels, museums, retail districts, cultural venues, and dining experiences designed to attract visitors from around the world.

The addition of globally recognised hotel brands further strengthens Diriyah’s position as a key tourism and hospitality destination within the Kingdom.
