Jumeirah Group rolls out biometric mobile check-in to enhance guest experience in Dubai

Jumeirah Group has unveiled an advanced biometric mobile check-in solution in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, reinforcing its focus on digital innovation and seamless guest journeys across its UAE properties.

The newly introduced Jumeirah Mobile Check-In allows guests to complete arrival formalities before reaching the hotel, significantly reducing waiting time at the front desk. The solution is designed to improve operational efficiency while delivering a faster, more convenient check-in experience.

Digital-First Check-In Experience

Guests who book directly through Jumeirah’s official platforms can upload identification documents up to 48 hours prior to arrival. The system incorporates a biometric verification step, where users submit a selfie for identity authentication, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

Once verified, guests can proceed directly to their rooms upon arrival and access either a digital or physical key based on their preference.

Security, Compliance and Personalisation

The platform is fully aligned with UAE government-approved protocols, ensuring high standards of data protection and privacy. With guest consent, the system also enables hotels to tailor services and personalise guest experiences, enhancing engagement throughout the stay.

Leadership Insight

Thomas B. Meier highlighted that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to innovation and guest-centric service. The solution is expected to simplify check-in procedures while supporting future reservations and payment processes through integrated digital systems.

Supporting Dubai’s Smart Tourism Vision

According to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, the introduction of such technologies aligns with Dubai’s broader goal of offering seamless and efficient travel experiences. The initiative contributes to positioning the city as a leading global destination driven by smart and sustainable tourism solutions.

Deployment Across Key Properties

The biometric mobile check-in service is currently available at:

  • Burj Al Arab Jumeirah
  • Jumeirah Beach Hotel
  • Jumeirah Emirates Towers

Jumeirah Group plans to extend the rollout across additional hotels and resorts in the United Arab Emirates, further strengthening its digital ecosystem.
