Corinthia Hotels has confirmed the appointment of Mohammed Wazir as General Manager of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar, a flagship property set to debut in early 2027.

Located on Gewan Island, the hotel will mark Corinthia’s first entry into the GCC market, reinforcing the brand’s strategic expansion across the Middle East.

A Seasoned Hospitality Leader with Global Experience

Mohammed Wazir brings more than two decades of experience in luxury hotel operations, brand development, and high-profile openings across international markets. Recognised for his strategic mindset and people-focused leadership style, he has built a strong reputation for driving operational performance and enhancing guest experience.

Before returning to Corinthia, he held senior leadership roles with globally recognised brands, including Anantara Hotels & Resorts and Our Habitas.

He previously led prominent destination resorts such as Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara, and Our Habitas Ras Abrouq, consistently strengthening market positioning and guest satisfaction.

Strong Brand Heritage with Corinthia

A defining milestone in Wazir’s career was his role in the opening of Corinthia London, where he served as Executive Assistant Manager. As part of the founding leadership team, he helped shape the hotel’s operational culture, service standards, and long-term positioning as a global flagship for the brand.

He has also held leadership and operational roles across multiple Corinthia properties in Europe and the Mediterranean, giving him in-depth knowledge of the brand’s culture, standards, and global vision.

Leading the Pre-Opening and Operational Strategy

As General Manager, Wazir will oversee the full pre-opening phase of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar, including recruitment, operational planning, strategic alignment, and brand execution.
