ACWA Power Announces CEO Appointment

ACWA Power has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Samir J. Serhan as Chief Executive Officer, effective March 1, 2026. The decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors as part of a planned and structured leadership succession process.

Outgoing CEO Marco Arcelli will continue to support the transition period in an advisory capacity to the Chairman, ensuring operational continuity and strategic alignment.

The company emphasised that its long-term direction and growth strategy remain firmly in place.

Extensive Global Leadership Experience

Dr. Serhan previously served as President of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East at ACWA Power, where he worked closely with the executive leadership team across major projects and operations.

Prior to joining the company, he held the position of Chief Operating Officer at Air Products, overseeing global operations and large-scale project execution across multiple regions.

Earlier in his career, he served in senior leadership roles at Praxair and Linde Group, building a track record in industrial infrastructure, hydrogen technologies, and operational transformation.

With more than 30 years of international experience, Dr. Serhan brings expertise in capital-intensive industries, portfolio growth, and disciplined performance management.
