Miraval The Red Sea has confirmed key leadership appointments as it prepares for its highly anticipated opening on Shura Island, part of The Red Sea Project.
Positioned as an adults-only, all-inclusive wellness retreat, the resort is set to introduce Miraval’s integrative wellbeing philosophy to Saudi Arabia. The newly appointed Executive Leadership Team will guide the resort’s launch, operational strategy, and long-term positioning within the Kingdom’s fast-growing luxury tourism sector.
General Manager to Lead Opening and Long-Term Strategy
Juan Paolo Alfonso has been appointed General Manager, bringing more than 20 years of global hospitality experience across Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, and the Caribbean.
He will oversee the resort’s pre-opening preparations, operational strategy, and brand alignment. His leadership will focus on delivering a seamless guest journey that integrates accommodation, dining, and wellness experiences across the expansive Red Sea setting.
The appointment supports Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 strategy to diversify the economy and position the Kingdom as a leading global destination for high-end wellness tourism.
Operational Leadership Focused on Excellence
Muhammad Al Nasser joins as Resort Manager, responsible for operational readiness, service standards, and team development.
With experience in luxury hospitality and pre-opening projects within Saudi Arabia, he will ensure that staffing, systems, and procedures align with international brand benchmarks. His role includes fostering a culture rooted in mindfulness, sustainability, and personalised guest engagement.
Holistic Wellness at the Core of the Resort
The resort’s wellbeing strategy will be led by Hanna Kulyba, Director of Wellness. Her expertise spans luxury wellness programming across Europe and the Middle East.
At the heart of the offering will be the 3,000-square-metre Life in Balance Spa, featuring 39 treatment rooms, vitality pools, hammams, salt rooms, relaxation spaces, and a private Spa Majlis Suite. Daily activities will include yoga, Pilates, sound therapy, and guided sessions tailored to individual guest goals.
The programming is designed to reflect Miraval’s core philosophy of intentional living and holistic balance.
Culinary Leadership Emphasising Mindful Dining
Peeyush Pandey has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage. With over two decades of international experience, he will shape the resort’s dining concepts and service culture.
The culinary direction will prioritise balanced nutrition, refined presentation, and cultural authenticity. Dining venues will align with the brand’s wellbeing ethos while maintaining the standards expected of a luxury Red Sea resort.
Commercial Strategy and Market Positioning
Saiful Rahman takes on the role of Cluster Commercial Director. With 17 years of experience across the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and India, he will lead sales, marketing, and revenue strategy.
His focus will be on positioning Miraval The Red Sea as a flagship wellness destination in the Kingdom, building strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable commercial performance.
