Boutique Group to Reimagine Al Hamra Palace as Ultra-Luxury Boutique Hotel

Jeddah’s Royal Landmark Enters a New Era of Luxury Hospitality

Saudi Arabia’s Boutique Group has unveiled plans to transform Al Hamra Palace in Jeddah into an ultra-luxury boutique hotel, reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to heritage-driven tourism development. Located along the Red Sea on the Jeddah Corniche, the historic palace will be repositioned as a high-end hospitality destination while preserving its cultural and architectural identity.

The project forms part of Boutique Group’s broader strategy to convert royal residences into world-class luxury hotels that reflect authentic Saudi heritage.

A Palace Rooted in Royal History

Constructed in 1965, Al Hamra Palace was originally built as a royal residence for King Faisal bin Abdulaziz. Over time, it evolved into a prestigious hospitality venue that welcomed international dignitaries and high-profile guests.

Architecturally, the palace blends Islamic Hijazi design with Neo-classical influences. Distinctive features include arched gateways, decorative stone façades, sloping roofs and expansive courtyards, making it one of Jeddah’s most recognisable heritage landmarks.

International Design Collaboration

To deliver the redevelopment at global luxury standards, Boutique Group has partnered with:

  • OBMI for architectural planning and restoration

  • Jacques Garcia for interior design

The design vision aims to retain the palace’s Hijazi character while introducing refined interiors that reflect oriental elegance, layered textures and timeless sophistication. The surrounding grounds will also be upgraded to create landscaped gardens that enhance the palatial setting.

Ultra-Luxury Hotel Features and Amenities

Once completed, the transformed Al Hamra Palace is expected to feature more than 90 luxury accommodations, including:

  • 47 palace suites

  • 44 private luxury villas

  • One signature royal suite

  • Six dedicated spa suites

Guests can anticipate personalised butler services, reinforcing the property’s ultra-luxury positioning.

Additional planned facilities include:

  • Multiple high-end dining venues

  • Five public event and reception spaces

  • Spa and wellness facilities

  • Revitalised gardens and outdoor areas

The concept aims to offer an immersive stay that combines regal architecture, contemporary comfort and traditional Saudi hospitality.

Elevating Jeddah’s Luxury Hospitality Landscape

The Al Hamra Palace conversion supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objective of diversifying the economy through tourism and cultural investment. By restoring historic landmarks and integrating them into the hospitality sector, the Kingdom is positioning cities like Jeddah as premium travel destinations.

Located on the Red Sea coast, the hotel is expected to attract both international travellers and regional luxury seekers looking for heritage-rich accommodation experiences.

Opening Timeline

An official opening date has not yet been announced. However, the redevelopment is set to establish Al Hamra Palace as one of the most distinctive ultra-luxury hotels in Jeddah, blending royal legacy with modern hospitality excellence
