Banyan Tree Tuwaiq to Expand Luxury Hospitality Landscape in Saudi Arabia

Luxury hospitality brand Banyan Tree has confirmed plans to introduce Banyan Tree Tuwaiq, marking its second property in Saudi Arabia. The announcement strengthens the group’s commitment to the Kingdom’s fast-growing tourism sector and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to position the country as a global leisure destination.

The new resort is expected to build upon the success of the brand’s debut Saudi property in AlUla.

Building on the Success of Banyan Tree AlUla

Banyan Tree entered the Saudi market with Banyan Tree AlUla, which opened in October 2022 in the scenic Ashar Valley. The all-villa resort was designed to reflect Nabataean architectural influences while blending harmoniously into the surrounding sandstone landscape.

The property features 42 private villas ranging from one to three bedrooms, complete with luxury amenities including a spa, fitness centre, and dining outlets. Located near the iconic Maraya, the world’s largest mirrored building, the resort quickly established itself as a benchmark for high-end desert hospitality in the region.

What to Expect from Banyan Tree Tuwaiq

Although detailed specifications have not yet been publicly disclosed, Banyan Tree Tuwaiq is anticipated to embody the brand’s signature pillars of privacy, sustainability, and immersive destination experiences.

Situated in the Tuwaiq region near Riyadh, known for its dramatic escarpments and expansive desert terrain, the property is expected to feature villa-style accommodations, wellness facilities, and curated culinary experiences. Sustainability and architectural integration with the natural landscape are likely to be central to the development.

Strategic Expansion in a Growing Market

The launch of Banyan Tree Tuwaiq forms part of the brand’s broader global expansion strategy, with additional properties planned across Asia and other international markets. Saudi Arabia remains a priority growth destination for international hospitality brands, supported by large-scale tourism investments, giga-projects, and infrastructure development.

As the Kingdom diversifies its economy and tourism offerings, luxury brands are increasingly entering the market to cater to domestic and international travelers seeking premium experiences.

Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Luxury Hospitality Portfolio

Banyan Tree Tuwaiq will join a growing pipeline of upscale hotels and resorts across Riyadh, AlUla, and the Red Sea region. With a focus on experiential travel, sustainable design, and cultural integration, the new property is expected to further elevate Saudi Arabia’s reputation in the global luxury travel sector.

More details regarding timelines, design elements, and amenities are anticipated in future updates.
