Minor Hotels Announces Anantara Trojena Resort Opening in 2026

Luxury Anantara Resort to Anchor Trojena’s Water Village

Minor Hotels has confirmed that its luxury brand Anantara will debut in Trojena, the mountain tourism destination within NEOM, with an opening scheduled for 2026.

The 270-key Anantara Trojena Resort will be positioned along the edge of Trojena’s signature freshwater lake, forming a key hospitality component of the Water Village in the Valley Cluster district.

The announcement strengthens Saudi Arabia’s expanding luxury hotel pipeline and reinforces Trojena’s positioning as a year-round alpine destination in the Middle East.

Trojena: Redefining Mountain Tourism in Saudi Arabia

Located approximately 50 kilometres from the Gulf of Aqaba and rising to elevations of around 2,600 metres, Trojena is being developed as a sustainable high-altitude tourism hub. The destination will feature the Gulf region’s first outdoor ski resort and is set to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.

Designed as part of NEOM’s broader masterplan — which includes The Line — Trojena will integrate renewable energy systems, environmental preservation and mixed-use lifestyle infrastructure to attract global travellers.

270 Keys with Lake and Mountain Views

The Anantara Trojena Resort will offer:

  • 270 guest rooms and suites

  • Select accommodations with private pools

  • Panoramic lake and mountain views

Dining venues are expected to include two specialty restaurants, an all-day dining restaurant with a show kitchen, a café and tea lounge, and a rooftop majlis café inspired by regional gathering traditions.

The architectural concept aims to blend contemporary luxury with the dramatic natural landscape of Trojena’s mountains and lakefront setting.

Wellness, Recreation and Exclusive Access

The resort will provide an extensive range of amenities tailored to both leisure and adventure-focused guests, including:

  • Anantara Spa featuring hammams and private treatment rooms

  • Infinity pool overlooking the lake and mountains

  • Fully equipped fitness centre

  • Stargazing terrace

  • Outdoor cinema

  • Dedicated kids’ and teens’ clubs

  • Sports and activities pavilion offering hiking, horseback riding and lake-based experiences

  • On-site helipad

  • Meeting and event facilities

The mix of wellness, lifestyle and adventure programming positions the property as a flagship luxury mountain retreat in Saudi Arabia.

Strategic Importance for Vision 2030

The Anantara Trojena Resort aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 agenda to diversify the economy through tourism and hospitality development. As part of NEOM, the resort will operate within a renewable-energy-powered ecosystem designed to protect natural and cultural assets.

Connectivity via NEOM International Airport and future high-speed rail integration is expected to enhance accessibility for international markets.

Expanding Anantara’s Middle East Footprint

The Trojena opening will strengthen Minor Hotels’ regional expansion strategy and introduce Anantara’s indigenous-inspired luxury philosophy to Saudi Arabia’s evolving travel landscape.

With Trojena positioned as a global mountain sanctuary hosting sporting events, cultural festivals and outdoor experiences, the Anantara Trojena Resort is set to become one of the Kingdom’s most anticipated luxury openings in 2026.
