AZULIK AlUla Resort to Debut in 2027 as a Landmark Eco-Luxury Destination in Saudi Arabia

The globally recognized eco-luxury hospitality brand AZULIK is set to expand into Saudi Arabia with the launch of AZULIK AlUla Resort in 2027. The project is being developed in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) as part of AlUla’s long-term Journey Through Time masterplan, a key pillar of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 tourism transformation strategy.

Positioned in the Nabataean Horizon District, the resort aims to blend architectural innovation, environmental sensitivity, and cultural heritage preservation.

Prime Location in a Heritage Landscape

The AZULIK AlUla Resort will be set within dramatic sandstone canyons, close to major upcoming cultural and lifestyle developments including AlMutadil Equestrian Village and Wadi AlFann, a large-scale outdoor art destination.

AlUla is globally known for Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring monumental Nabataean tombs carved into rock formations. The resort’s design approach carefully respects this heritage-rich environment while contributing to the region’s growing luxury tourism portfolio.

Organic Architecture Inspired by Nature

Designed by Roth Architecture, founded by Eduardo “Roth” Neira, the project reflects AZULIK’s signature philosophy of biomimicry and natural geometry. The built environment will mirror desert contours and sandstone cliffs, using layered natural materials and woven fibers.

Rather than imposing rigid structures on the landscape, the architecture is conceived to flow with the terrain. Existing rock art inscriptions and natural waterways will be preserved and integrated into the overall planning, ensuring environmental continuity and cultural respect.

76 Villas and Immersive Cultural Experiences

Slated for completion in 2027, the resort will offer 76 luxury villas across six distinct categories. Key features will include:

• A wellness-focused spa

• VIP club and curated lounges

• All-day dining experiences

• The brand’s immersive art space, SFER IK

The SFER IK museum concept is known internationally for blending contemporary art, architecture, and natural surroundings, positioning AZULIK AlUla as both a hospitality and cultural landmark.

Sustainability at the Core

Environmental responsibility forms the foundation of the development. Private vehicles will not be permitted on the property. Instead, the resort will offer:

• An all-electric mobility network

• Dedicated horse and camel trails

• Hiking routes through the surrounding desert

Water management systems will utilize existing natural waterways for irrigation while safeguarding against seasonal flooding. The project aligns with AlUla’s Sustainability Charter and Saudi Arabia’s broader green initiatives.

Beyond luxury travel, AZULIK AlUla is expected to generate more than 300 direct jobs upon opening. Construction and operational sourcing will prioritize local materials, suppliers, and workforce participation across AlUla and Saudi Arabia.
