Hyatt to Launch Hyatt House and Hyatt Centric Hotels in Madinah’s Knowledge Economic City

Two new Hyatt properties will add 576 rooms and introduce the Hyatt Centric brand to Saudi Arabia

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced plans to expand its footprint in Saudi Arabia through the development of two new hotels in Madinah. The hospitality group has signed management agreements with Knowledge Economic City (KEC) to open Hyatt House Madinah KEC and Hyatt Centric Madinah KEC, adding a combined 576 keys to Hyatt’s portfolio in the Kingdom.

The upcoming hotels will be part of the Knowledge Economic City masterplan, a major mixed-use urban development designed to support tourism, business activity, and residential growth in Madinah.

Hyatt Centric to make its debut in Saudi Arabia

One of the most notable aspects of the project is the introduction of the Hyatt Centric brand to Saudi Arabia. Known for its lifestyle-oriented approach, Hyatt Centric hotels are designed to reflect the character of the destination while offering modern hospitality experiences.

The Hyatt Centric Madinah KEC will include 130 guest rooms and suites, with interiors inspired by the cultural identity of Madinah. The hotel will feature contemporary design elements, curated artwork, and guest experiences tailored to travelers seeking an immersive urban stay.

The property aims to attract leisure travelers and visitors interested in exploring the city’s heritage and cultural attractions.

Hyatt House designed for extended-stay guests

Alongside Hyatt Centric, the development will also introduce Hyatt House Madinah KEC, which will feature 446 residential-style rooms.

Hyatt House properties are designed for guests seeking flexible accommodations with home-like amenities, making them suitable for extended stays, families, and business travelers.

The combination of a lifestyle hotel and an extended-stay property within the same development will create a diverse accommodation offering for travelers visiting Madinah.

Strategic location within Knowledge Economic City

Both hotels will be located in Al Aliyah, the first phase of the Knowledge Economic City development. The large-scale project covers approximately 6.8 million square metres and aims to become a key urban hub in Madinah.

The development benefits from strong connectivity, with direct links to five major road networks in the city. It is also located within convenient distance of the Prophet’s Mosque, Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, and the Al Haramain High-Speed Railway, which connects Madinah with cities such as Makkah and Jeddah.

This accessibility makes the location attractive for both international pilgrims and business visitors.

Supporting tourism growth in Madinah

Madinah remains one of the most important destinations in the Islamic world, welcoming millions of visitors each year. The addition of Hyatt House and Hyatt Centric hotels is expected to support the city’s growing hospitality sector while enhancing accommodation options for travelers.

Both properties will participate in the World of Hyatt loyalty programme, allowing guests to access benefits such as reward nights, exclusive member rates, and room upgrades.

The development also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to strengthen tourism infrastructure, diversify the economy, and position the Kingdom as a leading global travel destination.

With these two new projects, Hyatt continues to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia while contributing to the evolution of Madinah’s tourism and hospitality landscape.
