Minor Hotels to Launch Avani and Tivoli Resorts in Bahrain in 2024

Strategic Entry into Bahrain’s Hospitality Market

Minor Hotels has confirmed its official entry into Bahrain with the development of two new beachfront resorts under its Avani and Tivoli brands. Scheduled to open in 2024, the properties mark the group’s debut in the Kingdom and signal a broader expansion strategy across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

The dual-hotel project strengthens Minor Hotels’ Middle East footprint and aligns with Bahrain’s ongoing tourism and infrastructure growth initiatives.

Part of the Bilaj Al Jazayer Waterfront Masterplan

The two resorts will form part of the Bilaj Al Jazayer mixed-use tourism development located on Bahrain’s southwest coast. The project spans approximately 1.3 million square metres and features a three-kilometre beachfront.

Bilaj Al Jazayer is being developed by Edamah, the real estate arm of Mumtalakat. The masterplan includes resorts, residential villas and apartments, food and beverage outlets, retail spaces, entertainment zones and offices, positioning the area as a key lifestyle destination.

Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort

Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort will feature 110 guest rooms and suites located along the waterfront promenade. Facilities are expected to include an all-day dining restaurant, Avani Pantry, pool bar, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre and meeting spaces.

The resort is designed to appeal to modern leisure travellers seeking a relaxed beachfront experience with contemporary amenities.

Tivoli Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain

Tivoli Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain will also offer 110 rooms and suites, complemented by two restaurants, two bars, a café, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym and spa facilities. Tivoli’s heritage-inspired hospitality concept is expected to introduce a refined leisure offering to the destination.

Both hotels will share access to a dedicated beach club within the wider Bilaj Al Jazayer development, enhancing their recreational and lifestyle appeal.

Prime Location with Strong Connectivity

The Bilaj Al Jazayer site benefits from proximity to major attractions including the Bahrain International Circuit and Dilmun Waterpark. Manama, the capital city, is approximately a 25-minute drive away, ensuring convenient access for business and leisure travellers.

The location supports Bahrain’s ambition to strengthen its tourism economy through high-quality infrastructure and diversified hospitality offerings.

Expanding Minor Hotels’ Middle East Portfolio

Minor Hotels currently operates and develops 29 properties across the Middle East under its Anantara, Avani, Tivoli and Oaks brands. The Bahrain debut reinforces the group’s strategy to grow its multi-brand portfolio across high-potential GCC markets.

The company’s regional pipeline also includes the introduction of NH Collection and NH Hotels, further expanding its brand representation in the Middle East.

Supporting Bahrain’s Tourism Vision

The partnership between Minor Hotels and Edamah reflects a shared objective to enhance Bahrain’s southwest coastline as a premium waterfront destination. The new resorts are expected to contribute to tourism growth, employment opportunities and long-term investment in the Kingdom’s hospitality sector.

With the opening targeted for 2024, Avani Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain Resort and Tivoli Bilaj Al Jazayer Bahrain are positioned to become key additions to Bahrain’s evolving resort landscape.
