In his new role, Wazir will oversee the pre-opening strategy and operational launch of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar. His responsibilities will include building the leadership team, establishing service standards, and positioning the hotel within Qatar’s evolving luxury hospitality landscape.
The hotel will be part of the Gewan Island development, an emerging waterfront destination designed to combine luxury living, retail experiences, and upscale hospitality offerings.
Strengthening Corinthia’s presence in the Middle East
The opening of Corinthia Gewan Island Qatar will represent the brand’s first property in the GCC region and an important milestone in its global expansion strategy. The project highlights the company’s ambition to grow its presence in key international markets while maintaining its focus on luxury service and destination-driven hospitality.
Corinthia Hotels is also planning additional developments in the region, including the upcoming Corinthia Dubai, which is expected to open in 2030 as part of the brand’s broader expansion across the Middle East.
