The Red Palace Riyadh to Debut as Ultra-Luxury Boutique Hotel in 2026

Riyadh’s historic The Red Palace is set to reopen in 2026 as an ultra-luxury boutique hotel, led by Boutique Group. The landmark transformation will convert one of Saudi Arabia’s most important royal residences into an exclusive hospitality destination, preserving its architectural heritage while introducing contemporary five-star amenities.

This adaptive reuse project highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on heritage-driven luxury tourism under Vision 2030.

A Landmark Rooted in Saudi History

Originally built in 1943 as the residence of Crown Prince Saud—later King Saud—The Red Palace played a significant role in the Kingdom’s early modern governance. For over three decades, it served as the seat of the Council of Ministers and hosted high-profile diplomatic gatherings.

The palace’s red façade, symmetrical layout, and Art Deco influences represented a progressive architectural shift at the time, blending Saudi design traditions with European stylistic elements.

Architectural Restoration and Design Vision

The restoration of The Red Palace aims to retain its historic character while reinterpreting it for a modern luxury audience. Architects Aedas are overseeing the structural transformation, while interiors are curated by French designer Tristan Auer.

Key historical spaces—including ceremonial salons, grand corridors, and landscaped gardens—will be preserved and reintroduced as part of the guest experience. The redesign respects classical columns, decorative plasterwork, and original architectural detailing while integrating refined contemporary finishes.

An Exclusive 70-Key Boutique Experience

True to its boutique positioning, The Red Palace will offer just 70 rooms and suites. This limited inventory ensures privacy, personalised service, and a highly curated stay experience.

Each suite will reflect the property’s royal heritage through elegant design elements, while incorporating modern comforts and bespoke hospitality services tailored to discerning global travellers.

Signature Spa and Saudi Wellness Traditions

A defining feature of the hotel will be its immersive spa concept. Guests will have access to private wellness suites complete with sauna, steam room, treatment space, and dedicated changing areas.

The spa program will draw inspiration from traditional Saudi hospitality rituals, incorporating perfume, incense, and floral elements alongside global wellness therapies. This integration of heritage and holistic care positions the property as a distinctive wellness destination in Riyadh.

Culinary Excellence and Cultural Gathering

The Red Palace will revive its legacy as a meeting place for culture and diplomacy. Dining venues will showcase authentic Saudi cuisine complemented by refined international offerings, creating a gastronomic destination for residents and visitors alike.

The property is expected to host exclusive social events, private celebrations, and cultural gatherings, reinforcing its role as a prestigious landmark in the Saudi capital. The transformation of The Red Palace aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to diversify its economy through cultural preservation and high-end tourism. By converting royal and historic residences into boutique hospitality experiences, Boutique Group is contributing to the Kingdom’s evolving luxury travel landscape.

This project exemplifies how heritage architecture can be preserved while creating sustainable and globally competitive hospitality assets.
